Founded in 2007, Heat Matt Products, LLC (HMP) is a separate, privately owned company whose primary business is to provide heat where and when needed for consumers and businesses. Hotfoil-EHS is one of our product manufacturers who have a long and successful history in providing heat treatment products.  Over the years, both Hotfoil and Electric Heating Systems (EHS) have become market leaders in their individual areas of expertise.  Hotfoil excels in the field of pipe tracing, tank heating, fly ash hopper heating and freeze protection with custom designed temperature control systems.  EHS is a worldwide leader in the field of high efficiency ceramic heaters, power consoles, power sources, high temperature insulation blankets and furnaces to 2000 degrees.

From this background HMP evolved into a pioneering innovator of consumer and commercial heating solutions.  For consumers an exclusive line of patented # 7,170,033 “feet and space warmers” was developed to keep the user’s environment safe and cold free.  While working to bring these “feet and space warmers” to market, HMP recognized an evolving problem on our nation’s roadways and assigned engineering and design resources to find a solution.  Plans continue on the consumer side but HMP has been refocused to address the more serious issue affecting our transportation industry.

Currently in North America, there is a movement underway which will make it illegal to operate tractor trailers, commercial trucks and other motor vehicles with ice or snow slabs on the roof.  Pennsylvania is the first to take action with a bill in their state senate which will enforce this position and it is expected other states will follow.  It is not an uncommon occurrence in localities which experience freezing rain, sleet and snow to see a slab of ice or snow fly off the roof of a motor vehicle or trailer and strike a vehicle that is following. This experience is not only startling to the driver behind; it is particularly dangerous if the slab has been hardened into ice.  This new law is designed to protect the public by mandating that companies avoid this dangerous situation and prevent these hazardous conditions from occurring on our roadways.

To resolve this cold weather problem and by leveraging decades of experience in heat treatment, HMP developed a unique line of “Thermal De-icers”.  As the name implies HMP thermal de-icers melt ice and snow and prevent slabs from forming.  HMP thermal de-icers are designed to keep the roofs of tractor trailers and commercial trucks snow and ice free before, during and after each road trip.  With patent pending technology, HMP provides an affordable solution to a serious and dangerous problem that has been affecting our nation’s highways for years.
