Thermal De-icer Roof Heating Systems is a patent pending design of Heat Matt Products and is engineered to start melting snow and/or ice within 15 minutes. The system is comprised of heat panels that are installed between the stiffeners in the ceiling of the trailer, and a control box that operates the system in two (2) stages. All internal controls in the control box are pre-wired at the factory. A sensor turns the heat panels on automatically when the ambient temperature reaches 50 degrees.
There are two (2) ways to supply power to the heating system as follows:
1. An external power source of two (2) 120 volt, or two (2) 240 volt – 30 amp receptacles located at the rear of the trailer - driver side.
2. By plugging in a power cable from the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit, not sold by us) mounted on the truck/rig to the heating system control box, mounted on the front of the trailer.
This system has been specifically developed for the commercial trucking industry to provide solutions with melting snow and ice off the top of their vehicles.
Panel Dimensions:
Approx Length: 96” inches; Width: 20” inches; Thickness: 1 1/8” ; Weight: 3 lbs
Note : This will vary depending on year and make of trailer.
In some smaller applications we can power our system with an Inverter. Heat Matt Products can use the 12 volt power source from the vehicles battery to convert it to 120 volt – 30 amps to power the heating system.
